This is a Creators World, and We’re all Living in it.

There are endless amounts of tools to make content. We’ve got social media platforms, we’ve got email tools, we’ve got content creation tools, and we’ve got a sea of people out there giving us tutorials. It would be very easy to say, forget this, We don’t need another content creator. But, hear me out. We do. Why? Because there is only one you and you offer a whole new perspective to share with the world. When you think about it like. that, it’s a very beautiful point of view. Once your mindset shifts into the thought that you can be a content creator too, you have to stop and think about what content you want to make. Here are my best tips for starting your content journey.

Step 1: Decide what platforms(s) you want to use

For me, I like Instagram the most. I’m currently trying out Tiktok and planning Pinterest content. Even though content creation is my job (through my agency), I find my own content tends to fall short due to the amounts of content I’m creating for other people. One of my 2022 goals is to get back to creating the content that makes me personally happy as well.

Step 2: Start creating consistent content that fits the platform

Ok you’ve decided what platform you want to use. Great! Now it’s time to start making content that fits that platform and uses the features of the platform. Something I’m currently exploring are Instagram Reels. Not going to lie, the struggle is real. They key here, is don’t give up and keep pushing forward and learning as the platform(s) you’ve selected change.

Step 3: Don’t give up on yourself

If making social content is something you really want to do, then you have to get started and you have to stick to it. Each social media platform is always changing and evolving. Every creator is always in a state of learning if they’re growing. I sometimes find the changes of social media platforms to be overwhelming and at times, I’ve quit creating content. I’m someone who struggles with what can feel like shallow content. My tip for that is to make sure you are posting content that is fulfilling to you. Also, don’t give up on yourself. You’re not always going to feel motivated or like what you have to say matters. Just remember, your voice matters.
